MADSAW was founded by Ian in early 2020 after a new hobby unlocked a passion for woodworking. With a growing family in central Texas and a demanding day job, turning, carving and finishing hand crafted custom woodworks was a way to decompress after a long day.

The Origin of Our Name
What’s in a name?
Growing up, Ian’s father had a small engineering firm, named with an acronym of his children’s initials. So, to keep to this same tradition, Ian knew he wanted to do something similar with his children's names.
One night in early 2020 while in his shop (half of his two-car garage) and after several weeks pondering company name possibilities, Ian was making some final rips on the table saw for a fireplace mantle and it dawned on him. As It turns out, the names of his two little boys, Maddox and Sawyer, when each cut down (pun intended) to the first three letters, formed a perfect name for a woodworking outfit.
MADSAW is more than a company name; it represents Ian's gusto for woodworking, but more importantly, his joy and love for his family and a legacy for his boys.
